Played in beautiful conditions, and after giving away an early 3 points to a penalty for Corinthians, Creggs played some super rugby with Conor McNulty, Adam Donnelly and Ronan Lambe very prominent. Out wide Ben Finnerty and Andrew Naughton were causing problems for the home defence. Mark Purcell went in for two tries one of which he converted to give Creggs a 12-3 advantage after 15 minutes.

The home side had a period of dominance for 10 minutes before the break and for the first few minutes of the second half where they scored 13 unanswered points to lead 18-12 but Creggs soon took control of the game again and big carries from Kian Moran on numerous occasions, and from Adam Donnelly and Darragh Kiernan as well as the Creggs backs moved the call well through Cian Glennon, David Gaquin, Shane Connaughton and Aaron Lyons. It all paid dividends with four second half tries from Adam Donnelly, Sean Trundle, Ethan Glennon and Lorcan Maher scoring plus two conversions from Mark Purcell. It gave Creggs a 36-18 lead into the closing stages.

Corinthians kept plugging away and when a kick was fumbled by the Creggs defence, Corinthians got there quickest and ran in for a try with the last play to leave the final score Creggs 36 – Corinthians 23.

Creggs Under-16’s are away to Sligo RFC next weekend.
