U14 Boys Div 1 League Final .

Ballinasloe RFC 17 Creggs RFC 12

Creggs v Ballinasloe was played at Dubarry Park. Creggs got off to a strong start and kept Ballinasloe pined inside there own half for most of the first half. Ballinasloe defence was strong but eventually Austin Smith applied the finish to give Creggs the lead with Cathal Nerney adding the conversion to give Creggs a 7 pt lead. lead. Creggs were straight back on the attack when Ballinasloe turned over possession and got in for a converted try on halftime to leave the score 7 all. The second half was more even with both teams attacking and defending but it was Ballinasloe who scored the first try in second half to take a 5 point lead. Creggs kept attacking but Ballinasloe’s defence was stubborn. Off the back of a scrum Ballinasloe got the ball out to their winger and he drew in both the Creggs fullback and winger and chipped over the top and scored try to extend their lead 17-7. Creggs kept attacking but time was against them when Ryan Halligan powered home to leave the final score Ballinasloe 17 Creggs 12.
