SENIOR RUGBY 

Creggs Firsts to play Dunmore RFC this weekend

Creggs First team’s Connacht League game away v Ballinrobe, last Sunday fell victim to the weather. This Sunday, the Firsts are away to local rivals Dunmore RFC in the Connacht League at 2.30 on Sunday. While Creggs currently sit at the top of the table, with three away games and one home fixture still to be played, there will be no complacency.

 Training continues on Tuesday and Friday nights.

Creggs Second Team travel to play Claremorris RFC

Like most fixtures, the Creggs Second Team’s Connacht League game away to Loughrea RFC last weekend was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. This Sunday, Creggs Second Team is scheduled to play away v Claremorris RFC on Sunday at 2.30pm.

 The Seconds Team has three away League games left and three teams with games in hand, there is a lot to play for yet. In this division, the teams that finish in third to sixth positions play in two quarter-finals, with the winners of those facing the top two teams in the semi-finals.

 Training continues on Tuesday and Friday nights with returning and new players always welcome. Contact Team Manager Sean Brandon or Coaches: Bernard Kilcommins, Mattie Corcoran, and Vincent Collins. 

YOUTH RUGBY

Due to the inclement weather, all youths games were cancelled last weekend.

A great weekend for Creggs Youths with victories for our Under-15’s, Under-16’s and Under-17’s teams and the Under-13’s also sharing the spoils in their game on Saturday.

Next weekend will prove to be an important weekend with three of our Youth teams within a game of making the Connacht Finals in their respective A Division Leagues. The Under-14’s, Under-16’s and Under-18.5’s with full details below.

Under-14’s play Galwegians with Final spot at stake

Connacht Under-14 A League:

Creggs Under-14’s will play a top of the table game against Galwegians RFC next Saturday at 1.30pm in Creggs, It is effectively a Connacht League Semi-Final, with the winner of this game will make it to the Connacht Under-14 A League Final.

 Good luck to the lads and all your support in Creggs next Saturday would be very welcome. 

 Training continues Tuesday nights at 7pm on the Roscommon Astro Turf. New players alway welcome.

Under-16’s play Ballinasloe in League Semi-Final

Under-16 A Connacht League Semi Final:

Creggs Under-16’s play a Connacht League Semi Final away v Ballinasloe RFC next Sunday at 12pm. The best of luck to the lads and all support for the team in Ballinasloe next Sunday will be much appreciated.

 Training continues Thursday nights at 7pm on the Roscommon Astro Turf. New players alway welcome.

Crucial Under-18s home league game Saturday evening

Connacht Under-18.5 A League:

Creggs Under-18.5’s will try to take another step to retaining their Connacht League title when they play Ballinrobe RFC in the re-sheduled game this Saturday Night in Creggs, at 7pm. This would leave Creggs v Oughterard RFC to follow in the last round.

 The Under-18.5’s and Under-20’s train with the senior teams on Friday nights. New players always welcome.

Training continues for Under-13’s, Under-15’s, & Under-17’s

The Under-13’s train on Tuesday evenings on the Roscommon Astro Turf. Their next scheduled game away to Castlebar, the weekend after next. 

The Under-15’s train on Wednesday evenings on the Roscommon Astro Turf. The Under-15’s have completed their league campaign and are now preparing for a Connacht Cup run.

The Under-17’s also train on Wednesday evening on the Roscommon Astro Turf. The Under-17’s have no game this weekend and have League matches remaining against Westport (home) and Corrib (away).

 New and returning players are always welcome at Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 level.

 

MINI RUGBY

Creggs Minis had their Blitz postponed due to bad weather last weekend.

 Next weekend Carrick RFC will visit for a blitz with a 10.30am kick off. A text will go to all players during the week with further details. New players alway welcome.

 Girls Mini Rugby in the club is being restructured and a new committee is being formed to promote and grow the game for the girls. More information in the coming weeks.

The Creggs Rugby Lotto Draw numbers this week were: 19, 27, 28, 31. There was no winner of the jackpot, which now rises to €6,600 for the next weekly draw. 

 The winner of the Lucky Dip draw this week was PAT HEALY.
