J1C team lost in Carrick but already guaranteed final soot

Having already secured a place in the J1C league final Creggs J1C team completed their league programme with a 3 point defeat away, against a strong Carrick side on Sunday. Carrick dominated the early stages and deservedly led by 7-0 at the end of the opening quarter.But Creggs gradually grew into the game and hit back with a brilliant try by fullback Ger Comer who duly landed the conversion from the touchline. Creggs went in front shortly after halftime when Tommie Devine crossed for a try The surefooted Comer converted. Carrick levelled the scoring with a well-worked try after a period of sustained pressure which was also converted. A close range penalty put Carrick ahead once more before another converted try by the home team left Creggs trailing by 10 points until prop Matthew Curley scored a try in the 65th minute which was again converted by Ger Comer. Carrick held on to secure a third place finish in the league with Creggs and Galwegians meeting in the J1C league final at the Dexcom Stadium on March 24th. Congrats Team
