Girls U16 and U18 travel to Limerick

Creggs U16 and U18 girls had an early start on Saturday morning to travel down to Garryowen RFC in limerick for a couple of friendly matches. The U16s turned up to a tough game from the hosts and some great attack was displayed but Creggs found it tough to get over the line. Creggs had the pace out wide whilst the hosts had the power through the middle. Both teams scored in the first half to leave it 7-7 at half time. Second half was much the same as the first but cool, calm composure helped Creggs with a hard fought 19-14 win. The U.18s had low numbers but played a great spirited game of rugby with a great display of attack and defence from both teams and every single girl walked off the pitch with a huge smile and an even bigger pile of dirty gear. Both teams then travelled on to St. Mary’s RFC to support the men’s first team in their All Ireland junior cup game. A great day for all the girls to bond and support the club. Thanks also to the parents that collected the girls who needed to travel back for other commitments and to the parents getting the girls to the bus for the early start.
