Creggs Under-14’s have big win away in Connacht Cup

Connacht Under-14 Plate

Corrib RFC 11, Creggs RFC 20.

Creggs played Corrib away in the first round of the Connacht Plate on Wednesday night last in Headford. This was a very severe test for the Creggs outfit as they were up against a very physical Corrib outfit.

The home team went into a 5 – 0 lead early in the game but Creggs came back with a try to equalize just before half time. Corrib took the lead again with a penalty early in the second half but Creggs replied with another try.

This was a very hard fought game and Creggs scored two more tries to one further penalty from Corrib, leaving a well-deserved final score of Creggs 20, Corrib 11.

This was a fantastic team effort from Creggs having been behind on three separate occasions they never panicked and were deserving winners. The try scorers were Thomas King, Daniel Browne, Shane Maloney, and jack Donnelly

Creggs now go forward to meet Buccaneers in the Connacht Quarter Final in two weeks time.
