Creggs U14’s win at home to Ballina RFC

Creggs U.14 boys played their league match v Ballina in Creggs on Saturday. In tough conditions with a gale force wind blowing, it was the visitors who scored first to lead by 7.

Creggs settled into the game and Ryan Halligan got in the corner for a try to leave the score 7- 5. Ballina got to score next after some good forwards moves to leave the half time score Creggs 5 Ballina 12.

Playing with the wind in the second half Creggs took control of the game with Ryan Halligan getting in and Calvin Beckett adding the conversion to leave the score tied at 12 points a piece. Creggs were now playing well using all their talented players and Calum Ward got in for a try to leave the score Creggs 17 Ballina 12 Creggs collected the restart and piled on the pressure which resulted in Calum Ward getting in for his second try of the game and Calvin Beckett adding the conversion to leave the score line 24 to12. Ballina finished strongly with Creggs having to defend for the last few minutes but to their credit they held out Ballina to leave the final score Creggs 24 Ballina 12.
