Creggs 43 Ballina 0

Today in a one sided affair, Creggs U.13s had a fantastic win against visitors Ballina RFC. Ballina started well but with some great tackling by the Creggs backline they denied a score. On 12 minutes Harry Feeley crashed over from the back of a 5-metre scrum. Creggs took control from there on and never looked back. After another 8 minutes Cian Fetherston touched down under the posts with Harry Trimble converting for Creggs to go 12 nil up. Handling errors as Creggs attempted to move the ball wide kept the score to 12 nil at the break. The second half was one way traffic as Creggs kicked up a notch. Almost straight from the kick off centre Eoin Callaghan caught a ball on his own 22 before breaking cover on the touchline, sprinting clear to finish under the posts with the extras added it was 19 nil to Creggs. 5 minutes later Creggs were over the line again with Tommy Muldoon finished great teamwork. On the 37th minute Ryan Sharkey added to the score bursting over from 5 meters out after some brilliant work by the backline to breach the Ballina defence leaving the score 29 – nil . Creggs pushed again and the handling and passing improving they were stretching Ballina out wide, sweeping the ball across the pitch from one side the other in wonderful back play before the forwards poked at the Ballina defence leading to Ryan Sharkey crashing over under the posts, Harry Trimble added the extras once more to leave the score 36 nil with minutes left. Creggs were not done and with another great phase of play Harry Feeley made a break from inside his own half sprinting away after breaking a number of tackles to touch down under the posts. With the conversion added the score finished at 43 to nil. A terrific display by this team once again with two debutants for the club in Shane Smyth and Fionn Harte wearing the jersey for the first time. The team now moves on to play Corinthians in Galway next weekend.
