Boys 14s Cup
U14 boys cup round 1 Creggs v Ballinrobe.
Creggs Boys U.14s played at home on Saturday afternoon against their Mayo opposition. Creggs were still mending their wounds from the league final and came into this game with all guns blazing. From the start the home team dominated the first half with tryies for Ciaran Cunnane, Ryan Halligan, Mark Fox, Calum Ward and Mark Naughton with Cathal Nerney adding four conversion to leave the halftime score 33 to 0. Creggs took advantage of their squad in the second half and were held up over the line had a try disallowed but finally Daithí Kelly powered home under the posts to score a try with Cormac Doyle adding the conversion. To their credit Ballinrobe fought and defended to the end to leave the final score Creggs 40 Ballinrobe 0. The official referee punished both side for high tackles disging out yellow cards and before the end of the game both side tackled lower and better. A good learning lesson. Next up for this team is a trip to Ballina next Saturday for Round 2 .
