Big home win for U17 Boys against Galwegians in Cup

Creggs RFC 36  Galwegians RFC 32

Creggs U17’s showcased a strong performance in the first round of the Cup at home on Sunday, securing a thrilling 36-32 victory over Galweigans. Mathew Beirne’s early try set the tone and despite Weigans’ efforts, Creggs held their ground. Notable contributions with tries from Leo Anic, Luke Kilcommons, Liam Butler and a crucial late try by Cillian Hussey secured the hard-fought win. The team declined a penalty in the 22 in the dying minutes despite trailing by 1 point but the decision to go for the corner luckily paid off, sealing a well-deserved victory. Huge team performance from everyone and Creggs now progress to the second round where they meet Carrick on Shannon in 2 weeks time. Well done to everyone despite the nail biting finish!
