Creggs Boys U.14s
On a sunny Sunday in Galway Creggs took on Galwegians in a cracking encounter. The hosts were hot out of the blocks as the Creggs lads weren’t getting into the flow of the game. Wegians took the first converted score after 5 minutes. Creggs bounced back when Harry Feeley crashed over from a tap penalty. The hosts then struck again when Creggs slipped off a few tackles and finished under the posts. This seemed to spark the Creggs team into gear when good back work was finished with another Harry Feeley try. The extras superbly added by Harry Trimble. Creggs attacked again and quick think by Ben Payne with a quick tap penalty, allowed Harry Feeley complete a hat trick before half time. The touchline conversion was added by Harry Trimble leaving the score 19-14 at half time in Creggs favour.
The first period of the second half was where Creggs put the game out of sight of the hosts. A super bit of handling by the backline moved Creggs from their own half to 5 metres out from the opposition line, where patient work from the forwards allowed Ryan Sharkey get over for a try. Again Harry Trimble hit a super conversion to put the game at 26-14 to the visitors. Shortly after that Harry Feeley robbed a ball and stormed over the line to push Creggs further ahead. The hosts struck back with a try under the posts leaving the score 31-21. Creggs went on the attack and after some brilliant handling opened up the opportunity for Eoin Callaghan to get over with the conversion added by Harry Trimble. As the clock ticked into the red Creggs weren’t done and Harry Feeley picked and went from a ruck and touched down under the posts. Leaving the full time score Galwegians 21 Creggs 45. A terrific win on the road for lads who play Carrick on Shannon at home next Sunday.
