Well done to Creggs U18 girls on winning the Connacht Division 1 league Title today defeating Tuam Oughterard on a scoreline of 45-26 in the final in Corrib RFC. This made it 3 league titles for the club in the last two weekends.
The Creggs girls did a jersey presentation before the game with last years league winning captain Sarah Purcell presenting the jerseys.
Creggs got off to the worst possible start after gathering the kick off, the ball squirted out of the ruck and the Tuam Oughterard players reacted quickest and gathered to score in the corner.
The first half of the game was a try fest and the Creggs girls gathered themselves after the poor start and had tries from Ciara Corrigan, Siofra Hession (3), Merisa Kiripati and Jemima Adams Verling, 4 of which were converted by Siofra Hession, while Tuam Oughterard had 3 tries in total, 2 of which were converted and the scoreline at half time was 38-19.
The second half was a much tighter affair with some excellent defence on both sides finishing with scores at the end with the final score 45-26.
Captain Jemima Adams Verling accepted the League trophy on behalf of her team while Siofra Hession with a personal tally of 30 points , received the “Thumbs Up” award for her display.
