Creggs RFC played Galwegians on an extremely wet, windy and cold Saturday evening under lights. The visiting team got off to a flying start scoring two tries in the first five minutes to lead by 12. Creggs immediately struck back with two tries of their own from Cameron Clark and Ryan Halligan with Calvin Beckett adding a conversion to equalise the game after 10 minutes. The rest of the half was a stalemate with both sides cancelling each other out. The home side dominated possession for most of the second half but Wegians defence stood strong and in the final minutes of the game the visitors scored a try and two penalties to leave the full time score Creggs 12 Galwegians 23 . This was the team’s best performance of the season and they were hugely unlucky to come away on the wrong side of the score line but they really put in a great performance against the only unbeaten team in the league this season . We would also like to say a special thanks to the U.15s players Adam Farrell, Cian Fetherston, Dara Cummins, Harry Feeley and Harry Trimble for joining us and adding strength and depth to our panel and making a real difference when they were called upon.
