The Connacht U.15 league semi-final was played between Creggs RFC and Monivea RFC on Saturday evening under lights in Creggs. Monivea dominated possession for most of the first half with Creggs having to defend the attacking side. Monivea got the first try and soon after added a penalty to lead by 10. Creggs eventually took control and the home side struck back with a try from Aydin Odemis and Cathal Nerney added the conversion to leave the score at the break 7-10. Creggs enjoyed a lot more possession in the second half and Ryan Lynch scored a try to put the home team in front 12 -10. More pressure from the home team was rewarded by a second try from Aydin Odemis to extend the lead to 7 points. Monivea put the Creggs defence under huge pressure for the last few minutes of the game but a defiant Creggs hung on for the win on the final score of Creggs 17 Monivea 10. Thanks to Monivea for a tough, hard fought game of rugby. Next up is the league final against Corinthains. Time and date yet to be confirmed .
