Hard luck to Creggs Senior womens team who lost to OLBC RFC in the final of The invitational plate by 29-5 today in Dexcom stadium.

In their first year of rugby for most of the squad, the scoreline doesn’t reflect the effort and improvement in the squad in only their 4th game.

Having an injury in the front row early in the game and having to reduce to 14 players for a large portion of the game due to having to go to uncontested scrums, meant the girls would always be against it, but they put in a great performance to be only 10-0 down at half time.

Creggs did get in for a try by Abbie Murray when the score was 17-0 and being short on the bench as the team got tired, they leaked two late tries to put a gloss on the scoreline.

Some outstanding individual performances especially from those learning the game. Well done ladies. Keep up the improvement and the rewards will come.
