Boys U.17s
Creggs U.17 boys team finally got their season under way when they welcomed Galwegians to Creggs. In a game that turned into a try fest with the locals scoring 11 tries but conceding 5 .The final score being 75 – 33. Creggs put this game out of sight by half time with some beautiful flowing supportive rugby and being very disciplined in defence. 4 tries from Cian Kiernan, 2 each by Jack Finn and Dan Kelly and then 1 each by Jeff Dolan, Cian Fitzmaurice and Kaylum Curran all added to the 11 try tally. Kaylum Curran also converted 10 of the conversions .
With the game well out of sight the Creggs boys got a small bit complacent and gave away some simple penalties to help to make the score board not look so one sided. The next outing for this team is against Corinthians in Galway in three weeks time on weekend 9/10 of November. This was a good starting point to the season. Some players who performed well without axtually scoring were Myles McSharry, Ruari Webb, Harry Kilcoyne and Conor Diffley.. The winner in the lineout game had to be Padraig O’Farrell who stole the Galwegians lineout a number of times.
All in all a great performance across all quarters.
